KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS was celebrated by NCC 27 (K) BN at Mercy College, Palakkad. Major Dr Narayanan Kutty was the chief guest of the day . The Cadets from PLS also participated in the event.
A Career guidance class was organized for students of Classes X, XI & XII by the Commerce Club on 12-08-24. Mr Naufal , from Kerala Commerce Forum was the Resource person.

Inauguration of Book Fair
On this occasion the whole school led by the Head Boy and Head Girl took the pledge to fight against the menace of drugs. Many programmes to generate awareness against the use of drugs were held in the school.

World Elderly Day the school organized Grandparents' Day on Sept 30th 2023. It was a day marked with some heartwarming moments and colourful cultural items.
Dr Dilip Falgunan , Veterinary Surgeon, conducted an awareness Class on Rabies for students of Class IX
The school organized an ANTI DRUGS SEMINAR for students of Classes VIII to IX. Mr. Abdul Bassith, Civil Excise Officer ,Palakkad , was the resource person of the day.
A highly interesting interactive class was conducted for Mathematics Dept and students by Prof Yogananda , HOD Mathematics dept of Shri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore
The school celebrated the Independence Day with great fanfare and patriotic fervour. The celebrations began with a march past led by the school band, Prefectorial Board, Scouts and Guides. The Ln. President hoisted the national flag and it was followed by prize distribution. The students presented an array of cultural items to mark the day.
Science exhibition was held in the Golden Jubilee Hall of PLS where students form I std to XII std showcased their talents by creating working models, still models , group projects etc. The exhibition was inaugurated by Lion President Ln. Vimal Venu and the best projects were rewarded in different categories.
Orientation class is being conducted for students of classes V std to IX std . The resource person is Mr Sundaram Ganesh, a highly respected motivational speaker.

The school celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the flag and children participated in various cultural programs. The school also honoured Academic Toppers in each class and gave away Endowment prizes as the day was also celebrated as Merit Day
The Maths club students of Classes IV and V, accompanied by their teachers, were taken on a trip to this marvel of creativity and innovation to witness and experience its inspiring journey of transformation from mundane to magnificent.The students learnt about Nek Chand, the man behind this amazingly unique innovation. They marveled at the greatness of his creativity as they saw different sculptures made from recycled material like ceramic pieces, glasses, ceramic pots, electrical waste, crockery, broken bangles, pieces of tar, rocks and pebbles to name a few
Shivani and Aditya Narayanan got A grade in category 4 for Instrumetal Music and Classical Music in CBSE KALOSTAV. Reyhan Ashik XI A got 3 rd position in Violin in Category 4
Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated with great fanfare at PLS on Friday, 02 September2022 by the staff and students .Children brought petals of different colour flowers from home and were engaged in making a colourful flower Rangoli – ‘Pookalam’. Tug of war , Thiruvathirakali, Puli Kali were other highlights of the day.
Har Ghar Tiranga program under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav activities envisages to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the citizens and promote awareness about our national flag. As part of this initiative the school organized various events like Freedom March, poster making competitions, mime etc
The class was conducted for students of STD VI, VII and VIII by Mr Noufal of KSEB on the safety measures to be followed while handling electrical devices and the safety measures to be followed in homes and offices. The class was held on 2ND July 2022.
The class was conducted by Ln. Vimal Venu on the topic investment Basics on 2nd July 2022.
An orientation class for teachers was conducted by Circle Inspectior Mr Satish on the topic “Drugs and Other Substance Abuse” on July 2nd 2022. He spoke about the dangerous and worrying situation in Kerala and All over India. He explained how the school children are targeted by the drug mafia and what steps school should take to stop the spread of this menace.
A training was conducted by Oxford for the book Echoes which supports the learning of Communicative English by Mr Alwin Vincent on 6th July 2022. The book facilitates the following:
“ANGANA” - WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME WAS CONDUCTED BY Health Club of the school on 6th July 2022. The resource person for the day was Dr Remya Sivadas who elucidated the benefits of Ayurveda and its branches. She also spoke on Women’s health issues, menstrual hygiene, psychological and morphological changes in different stages of a woman’s life.
An orientation class by Shri Rishiraj Singh, Retd. IPS officer of Kerala Cadre, for classes VI to XII on Mobile Addiction and Drug abuse was conducted on 23rd Jun 2022. He spoke face to face with the children warning them of the various methods by which they can fall prey to drug peddlers. He also answered various queries put up by the children. He was able to establish a warm rapport with the children and entrusted them with the responsibility of fighting against mobile addiction and drug abuse at the primary level.
Palghat Lions School celebrated the annual day on 10th Jan 2020. Dr. P R Sreemahadevan Pillai , was the chief guest of the day. The President of Lions Club Of Palghat, Ln P Mohanakrishnan, School Chairman Ln P Narayanan Unni, School Manager Ln Sreeram, School Principal Mrs. Shobha Ajith and PTA President Mrs. Aparna Amal presided over the meeting. Endowment Prizes were given away which was followed by a vibrant and colourful Variety Entertainment Programme.
An orientation class on Start Ups - "Experiment Your Startup Dreams" was held for the students of Class IX. The class was conducted by Carve Startup Labs. The Resource Person for the day was Mr. Vishnu Nagaraj.
Library week was celebrated in the month of July from 22-07-2019 to 27-07-2019 to inculcate reading habit among the children right from their formative years. A book fair was organised for the students and book review contest was also conducted.
Our school was the venue for the Capacity Building Programme on Social Science for Class X. Teachers from different schools in Kerala Attended the programme which was on 19th and 20th of July 2019. Mrs. Sheeja P R and Mrs. Prema N were the resource persons for the programme.
As part of this year's Eco Club Activity students have started a vegetable garden in the school, as a small initiative towards a greener and cleaner school campus.
The Palakkad Sahodaya School Complex honoured the District Toppers of AISSCE and AISSE at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of our school. The Chief Guest for the day was DEO of Palakkad District, Mrs. Anitha. Trophies and Certificates were given to the Distrct Toppers, Subject Toppers and the students who scored full A1 in all subjects.
The World Music Day and International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school with music programmes and yoga demonstration by the children of class IX and X.
As part of the Wold Environment Day celebrations on June 5th saplings were distributed to students with the aim of creating awareness on the importance of planting trees and thereby protecting the environment.
A motivational class was conducted for the teachers' by Oxford University Press on 20th May 2019. The resource person for the day was the renowned Speaker Mr. Methil Krish.
The Republic Day celebrations started with the flag hoisting by the Vice President of Lions Club of Palghat, Ln. Mohanakrishnan. On this day Merit day was also celebrated and proficiency prizes were given away to the toppers in various classes. The day ended with colourful cultural programmes and sweets were distributed.
CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition was held in our school on 21st and 22nd Jan 2019. The day started with the inaugural ceremony. The Chief Guest of the day was the DEO of Palakkad District Mrs Anitha C V who was welcomed by t he school band. From all over Kerala 59 schools participated in the exhibition and the innovative thinking of the budding scientists were on display. The event culminated with the closing ceremony where all the winners from different schools were honoured.
The Annual Sport day of the school was celebrated on 21st Nov 2018. Ln. K Balagopal , President, Lions Club Of Palghat , was the Guest of Honour for the day. The Chief Guest of the day was Dy.Sp. Radhakrishnan K L. The Sports Secretary , Amal A took the oath. The school Chairman Ln. P Unnikrishnan handed over the flame and Sanjid Aman , the Individual Champion(2017-18), lit the couldron. The Principal, Mrs Shobha Ajith hoisted the school flag. The other highlights of the day were March Past by the four houses, Band Display, Mass Drill , Aerobics, Karate and Yoga display. The students actively participated in the Track and Field events and prizes were given by Ln. Lady Mrs Sindhu Balagopal.
The Club Day 2018 was celebrated on 17th October 2018 in a grand manner. Ln. K Balagopal, President, Lions Club Of Palghat, inaugurated the event. The students from ix to xii set up stalls and exhibited their business acumen by selling various items ranging from handmade jewellery to food items. Variety Entertainment programs were also there.
A SMALL ACT OF COMPASSION, CARE AND INNOCENCE CAN TRULY TOUCH AND TURN AROUND LIVES. KUDOS TO OUR YOUNG SAMARITANS WHO CONTRIBUTED THEIR SAVINGS TO BRING SOLACE IN OTHERS LIVES.
The scouts and guides of our school participated actively in Flood Relief Camps organized in the district to help the flood victims. The school donated a sum of Rs. 3,00,000/- to Palakkad District Sahodaya School Complex which will be donated to chief minister's relief fund.
Kindly note that The 72nd Independence Day celebrations started with the flag hoisting by the President of Lions Club of Palghat, Ln K. Balagopal. Independence Day messages were delivered by the Lion President, PTA President, Mr. Hariharasudhan and the School Principal Mrs Shobha Ajith. The toppers of AISSCE and AISSE 2018 were given prizes. At the end of the programme sweets were distributed to all the students.
As part of the Library week Celebrations the renowned writer Mundur Sethumadhavan Nair addressed the students on the need of inculcating reading habits among the students, more than ever before. He spoke to the students about the hidden treasures in the books of various languages and authors Book review contests were also held.
As part of the celebrations an array of programs depicting the benefits of Yoga and Music on our lives were presented by the children. A pledge to lead a healthy life by including Yoga in the daily life was also taken by all the students of the school.
As part of World Environment Day saplings were planted in the school by the Eco Club. The OISCA members Mrs Rosymol Joy and Mrs. Jyoti Sreeram were present during the occasion.
To mark the Founder's Day of Scouts and Guides, the scouts and guides of our school, visited the Snehajwala Orphanage, Padalikkad. The children donated money and spent some time with the inmates.
The students of Class X B donated a sum of Rs 5000/- to Karunya Charitable Society. It was indeed a commendable and thoughtful gesture i on their part as the amount was the profit they had earned from the stall set up on PLS Medley Day.
